Bob Case, PhD is a faculty member in the Sport Management Program at Old Dominion University. He helped establish the sport management program at Indiana University, Bloomington in 1985 and then started the Sport Management Program at ODU in 1996. He has over 40 years of experience in various aspects of sport, ranging from college coaching, athletic administration, intramurals and recreational sports director, sport small business ownership, and as a university faculty member. Dr. Case has written several articles and presented at conferences about the need for sport entrepreneurship coursework in sport management professional preparation curriculums. While coordinating the undergraduate and graduate sport management internships at ODU for the past 28 years, Dr. Case has noticed an increasing interest by students in pursuing sport-related careers that are entrepreneurial in nature and result in the eventual creation of sport-related small businesses.
