The purpose of this text is to offer expert knowledge based on the latest research in exercise science and sports medicine with regards to physical fitness and wellness. We wish to provide the students with the tools for self-assessment and to give them guidelines for developing and maintaining fitness. In the wellness area, we are presenting current information on today’s important health issues and a means of achieving a healthy lifestyle. We have drawn on our combined expertise and experience in exercise physiology, athletic training, scientific research and teaching.
