Bill Johnson, Ph.D. (affectionately known as Dr. J) is a distinguished professor of anatomy and physiology at the Community College of Rhode Island and a former adjunct professor of anatomy, physiology, and chemistry at the University of Rhode Island. After earning his Ph.D. in Oceanography from URI in 1980, Dr. J has committed his career to educating students with a blend of humor, approachability, and passion. Alongside his loyal canine companion Lily, Dr. J is devoted to helping students thrive by creating comprehensive resources to support their learning. When not in the classroom, Dr. J is an avid gardener tending to his beloved rhododendrons, a dedicated cyclist covering many miles each year, and a race car enthusiast, competing on renowned circuits such as Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, Watkins Glen in New York, and Mosport in Canada.

Lisa Miller, M.F.A., M.A.T. is a former educator as well as a licensed physical therapist assistant, freelance writer, content creator, and marketing professional from Rhode Island. A passionate animal lover, Lisa enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, watching Doctor Who, and spending quality time with her partner Matt and their terrier mix, Georgia.
