Catherine White Berheide holds the Tisch Family Distinguished Professorship at Skidmore College. She received the American Sociological Association Section on Teaching and Learning Hans O. Mauksch Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Education in 2003. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has twice named her a Carnegie Scholar. A sociologist of work, she currently teaches courses on gender, families, and work. Her publications include: Gender Transformation in the Academy; Included in Sociology: Learning Climates That Cultivate Racial and Ethnic Diversity; Women, Family, and Policy; Sex and Gender (a special issue of Teaching Sociology), and Women Today: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Women ‘s Studies. Her current research examines the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on faculty."
