Katja Kathol is a graduate student at McGill University in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Her research is focused on inclusive sexual education and how this can impact the social and emotional well-being of students.

Katja’s multidisciplinary undergraduate degree from McGill University in Sociology, with minors in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist and Social Justice and Communication Studies, greatly informed her commitment to intersectional education practices.

Katja has bolstered her academic knowledge with technical experience in the fields of education, research, and psychology. She has spent four years working in the fields of neurology and neuropsychology wherein she examined the interplay between cognitive and social behaviour, and how that interplay can impact human learning, memory, and problem-solving.

Katja and Professor Stephanie Mitelman met four years ago when Katja became a volunteer at the Sexual Health Network of Quebec. Today, Katja sits on their Board of Directors as the Director of Communications.

Katja currently works as an educational consultant for www.sexedmart.com, where she specializes in creating educational materials about concepts such as safety, bodily autonomy, and healthy relationships for individuals with intellectual differences, developmental delays, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Katja is motivated to create inclusive, accessible, and diverse sexual education teaching methods to educate the future generation of students.
