Laura Thomas has extensive experience in the collegiate world. Her journey began as an Education Leadership Consultant, assisting leaders on campuses throughout the US as well as working with staff in student affairs. Her passion for helping others transpired into becoming a counselor. She was a Career Counselor at Texas State University, San Marcos as well as at Southern Methodist University.

Her experiences as a facilitator at LeaderShape and with Gallup’s Strengthsfinder led her to become the Assistant Director at Texas Christian University. While at TCU she was the director of StrengthsQuest and created several leadership classes. It was then that Laura realized she wanted to reach students through the classroom. She is currently a Psychology Instructor at Central Washington University in Sammamish, Washington. She teaches several classes, including her favorite, Psychology of Adjustment.

Laura received her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Psychology and Life Sciences. Her master’s degree is from Texas State University in Community Counseling. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, reading, and anything outdoors with her three children and husband.
