Patsy Self Trand, Ph.D. is a retired faculty member of Florida International University and the former administrator of the FIU Reading and Learning Lab. At FIU Dr. Trand taught undergraduate, honors, and graduate courses in Reading and Language Arts. Dr. Trand is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Miami for the School of Education. She is committed to passing on her wealth of knowledge and experiences to help high school and college students reach their academic goals. She has authored many articles, has presented at many national and international conferences, and has authored eight college level textbooks.

LOPATE
Kay Lopate, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita from the University of Miami where she co-founded the Reading and Study Skills Center and taught for the School of Education. Her special interests are preparing premed students for medical school and helping undergraduates acquire the advanced reading abilities to succeed with their college level textbooks and classes. She has co-authored eight college reading and learning strategy textbooks with Dr. Patsy Trand.
