Chris Nielsen is a Part-Time Instructor (But “Associate Professor” just sounds better!) at 4 local colleges in southern California... Cal State Fullerton, Orange Coast College, Santa Ana College and East Los Angeles College.
In 1992, he received his BFA Degree in Graphic Design from CSUF. He started teaching computer graphics courses back in 1998 after getting his MFA Degree in Illustration that same year, also from CSUF.
He currently teaches classes in Digital Media, including full-semester classes such as: Introduction to Computer Graphics, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
Chris lives with his Wife Marie and his best buddy - their son, Jonah.
In the short amounts of spare time he can find between all his classes, Chris is also a part-time digital fine-artist and freelance illustrator.
His hobbies include: Drawing in Adobe Illustrator every day... Creating Papercraft Models... Collecting Ninja Turtles Action Figures (he has collected every single figure since they were first introduced back in 1988!)... And he is an avid reader and collector of all X-Men and G.I. Joe Comic Book Titles.
While working at home, Chris prefers to listen to Loud Heavy Metal Bands such as: Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Metallica and Iron Maiden.
Oh yeah, and he totally digs drawing highly-detailed portraits of Custom Motorcycles!

"I cannot lie. I don't really find much need to ask questions anymore. They're pretty much all answered on the DVDs."
- T.L. (Orange Coast College)
"Chris Nielsen's videos gave the launching point to understand Illustrator and Photoshop. I feel more confident working and painting digitally and I found a new appreciation for digital media."
- A.D. (Cal State Fullerton)
"I have been using Adobe Photoshop© and Illustrator© for over 10 years and found these tutorial videos to be extremely useful. Nielsen covers hidden features that I never knew and learned useful tips and tricks."
- D.B. (Cal State Fullerton)
"Chris Nielsen keeps his videos concise and to the point. He doesn't waste any time. They are some of the best instructional videos I have had the opportunity to learn from."
- R.T. (Cal State Fullerton)
"The videos are very thorough and teaches even the newest user of Illustrator everything they need to know to start their own complex projects."
- C.C. (Cal State Fullerton)
"I am so thankful this form of textbook exists. I am finally learning how to use Adobe Photoshop© and Illustrato©r and this is helping me to become familiar with both in a rather short period of time. Since I am a hands-on visual learner, the videos and demos really help me a lot, unlike a standard textbook which just tells you the steps. I highly recommend this to ANYONE who is learning these programs from scratch."
- R.S. (Cal State Fullerton)
