Applied Ethics is a unique text. In the first part, Dr. John Tamilio III examines some of the most influential moral theories within the Western tradition, most notably those proffered by Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, Jeremy Bentham, and John Stuart Mill. He also explores the complex theories that undergird religious ethics, cultural relativism, and a variety of social contract paradigms. As the subtitle indicates, Tamilio also analyzes some of the more controversial and ubiquitous issues in medicine, business, and ecology. This book is ideal for undergraduates who are studying ethics for the first and for those who desire a deeper insight into the role ethics plays in contemporary culture.
