Dr. Terrance Carr is a seasoned Business Executive with over 32 years of experience in nonprofit and business development, executive coaching, event management, publishing, media relations, branding, and merchandising. She is dedicated to elevating individuals and organizations by turning visionary aspirations into tangible results through strategic development and sustainable legacy building.
With an extensive background in sports and entertainment, Dr. Carr has had the honor of working for leading corporations, professional athletes, and televised sporting events. Her career includes roles with NBC Sports, BET, CBS Sports, ABC Sports, Fox Sports Network, PBS, Thomas Nelson Publishing, William Morris Endeavor (WME), Sony, and RCA Records. These experiences have provided her with deep expertise in media production, talent management, sponsorships, and large-scale event coordination.
Beyond the entertainment industry, Dr. Carr has played a key role in higher education and community development. As an Adjunct Professor at Texas Southern University’s MLK School of Communication, she has designed and taught courses on Sports and Entertainment Event Production, Branding, Merchandising, Business Portfolio Development, Entertainment Management, Speech Communications, and Publishing & Media. She is passionate about mentorship and provides students with hands-on learning experiences, industry insights, and networking opportunities.
Dr. Carr’s leadership also extends into nonprofit and philanthropic initiatives. As the former Executive Director of the George Wilson Safety Foundation, she led community development programs, fundraising efforts, and educational initiatives that earned national recognition, including commendations from the Obama Administration and the NFL. Her strategic planning and partnership-building efforts resulted in significant revenue growth and expanded outreach.
Throughout her career, she has held pivotal roles in event management and branding. At William Morris Endeavor, she served as a merchandise trainer for Oprah Winfrey’s The Life You Want tour, training sales teams, optimizing product presentation, and ensuring revenue goals were met.
