Dr. Penny Joyner Waddell is an author and corporate trainer for speech, communication, and leadership skills. Dr. Waddell authored Basic Writing for Business: a Technical Approach, and nine editions of Going from Stress to Success, published by Pearson Publishers. 

Since teaming up with Kendall Hunt Publishing, she has written four editions of SpeechShark and three editions of CommunicationShark which both include the SpeechShark app, available for IOS and Android devices. Recently, she also authored several corporate training texts through Kendall Hunt’s sister company, Innovative Ink Publishing. 

Dr. Waddell has been awarded the prestigious National Communication Association’s Community College Educator of the Year, Georgia’s Presidential Award from Toastmasters International, TCSG’s Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Teaching, and SkillsUSA National Educator of the Year Award for Career and Technical Colleges

Experience working with adult students in the classrooms and being an administrator and leader in one of our nation’s most celebrated technical colleges has provided Dr. Waddell with an excellent background as a leader in preparing others to be more effective in the workplace. She continues to break ground creating instructional materials to reach young adults, adult collegiate audiences, business professionals, and community members as they develop communication skills to achieve personal and professional goals.
