Bible Study with Darnisha: A Study of 2 Kings began as my own personal study in my quiet time with the LORD. After a while, I taught my children the book of 2 Kings. After teaching it to my children, the LORD told me to practice my gift of teaching on two specific women. Therefore, I taught them 2 Kings. Next, the LORD told me to do a podcast and He pointed out that I had plenty of content from my study of 2 Kings. Next, the LORD told me to do what I was doing on my podcast on YouTube. Finally, my personal study of 2 Kings is a published book! Bible Study with Darnisha: A Study of 2 Kings is me inviting you to come with me and dive into the study of a piece of the nation of Israel's history.

In this study, I challenge you to read the book of 2 Kings yourself piece by piece and bit by bit. I share with you the things that God has shared with me as I studied 2 Kings and taught it and then challenge you to apply God's Word to your own life. 

2 Kings is a study of a painful time in Israel's history. The nation of Israel that was once united under the reign of David and Solomon, are now divided into two kingdoms, Israel and Judah. Both the Northern Kingdom (Israel) and the Southern Kingdom (Judah) fall into the abyss of idolatry and a corrupt society. They were led into this destruction by evil kings. We see God demonstrate patience with them for many years by warning them through the prophets that if they continue in disobedience, judgment would surely come. Israel and Judah did not adhere to God's warnings. They continued to live in disobedience and the result was the Northern Kingdom (Israel) was taken into captivity by the Assyrians and the Southern Kingdom (Judah) was taken into activity by the Babylonians.
