I am thrilled to share that I have written a new book that delves into the history of experiential learning and its impact on students of color in the Jim Crow South. This book is not just a collection of facts, but a significant contribution to the understanding of our educational history.

Booker T. Washington was a thought leader, scholar, advocate, and practitioner of Experiential Learning through his efforts at Historically Black Colleges and Universities like Hampton University and Tuskegee University.  He also pioneered a community-based K12 education model by establishing over 5,000 Rosenwald schools during the Jim Crow Era.

My book addresses how Booker T's vision can help us today.

Without a doubt, students learn better through experience. This is especially true with students of color.

It is imperative that we provide equitable experiential and project-based learning opportunities at every level of our educational system. This is not just a suggestion, but a necessity for the future of our students and our society.

I have partnered with Kendall Hunt Publishing to develop this college textbook. I am pleased to join the list of authors educating the next generation of experiential educators!
