Kiran Patil

Kiran S. Patil, PhD, is an assistant professor of practice in the Area of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business. A doctoral graduate from the University of North Texas, Dr. Patil focused on the transformative role of blockchain in supply chain management for his dissertation. His research interests span blockchain, supply chain collaboration and performance, data mining and behavioral experiments. His work is published in reputable journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change and Supply Chain Management Review.

Before joining academia, Dr. Patil garnered practical experience in the industry, working in various capacities, including quality control manager and production floor control manager. His engineering background comes from his tenure as an engineer at Bosch Ltd.

 

Dr. Patil is an enthusiastic educator. At the University of North Texas, he served as a teaching fellow and research assistant, honing his pedagogical skills. He has taught various courses from Logistics & Supply Chain Management to Data Analysis, receiving favorable student reviews.

In service to the academic community, he has been a session chair at the annual DSI (Decision Sciences Institute) and POMS (Production and Operations Management Society) conferences and reviewed journal papers. Dr. Patil is the recipient of multiple academic awards and certifications, including the Best Student Paper Award at the South West Decision Sciences Institute Conference and the Graduate Student Research Award at the University of North Texas.

 

He has a business analytics minor and is an ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and PMI Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM).

 

His ongoing research aims to understand blockchain's effectiveness in supply chain management and is targeted for publication in reputable journals. Dr. Patil is committed to advancing theory and practice and embodies the bridge between academic research and real-world application.
