Computer-based technology is integrated into parts of our everyday life. In relation to communication, it is not surprising that understanding nonverbal communication behaviors is an essential part of communicating in this context (Vinciarelli & Mohammadi, 2011). Nonverbal communication uniquely refers to an exchange, from human to human, in which information is shared through behavioral cues (Knapp & Hall, 1972; Richmond et al., 1995). For technology devices like laptops, smartphones, and tablets, nonverbal cues are attractive, as they can be transferred through audio and visual channels (Vinciarelli & Mohammadi, 2011).
