"The unseen threads that link us together sustain our existence, explain our connections, and define our destiny." — TS Douglas, 2016

TS Douglas, Ph.D. is a multifaceted professional whose work spans science, research, education, fashion design, and authorship. She earned a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Molecular, Cellular, & Microbial Biology from Chicago State University (2003, 2008), where her graduate research focused on innate and adaptive immunity, specializing in mRNA and protein analysis. In 2006, during her doctoral studies at Northwestern University, she contributed to groundbreaking research on immunology and protein genomics, along with prostate cancer, and developmental biology at the Robert H. Lurie Research Center of Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Her journey into education began in 2008 with university-level biology instruction at Chicago State University, leading her to pursue an M.A.T. and Secondary Teaching Certificate in 2012 at National Louis University. She taught in Chicago Public Schools while also serving as adjunct faculty at the City Colleges of Chicago. In 2013, she pivoted to the fashion industry, concurrently earning a B.F.A. in 2016 from former International Academy of Design and Technology. Simultaneously, she worked at Thomas Pink, a British luxury shirtmaker, where she refined her skills in visual merchandising, operations, and retail sales.

TS Douglas's passion for education and research led to the publication of two textbooks (Kendall Hunt Publishing): Cellular Nutrition (2018), which explores the link between biology and nutrition, and The Science of Health 2 nd ed (2025), a comprehensive guide to cellular health and wellness for use across interdisciplinary curricula.

Currently, TS Douglas serves as an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department and Curriculum Facilitator at Kennedy-King College (City Colleges of Chicago). In 2026, she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Foundations of Higher Education at Illinois State University researching adult learning (andragogy) practices of biology faculty teaching nonmajor biology courses. Her teaching philosophies center on building authentic relationships, connecting science to real-life experiences, and empowering students to lead purpose-driven lives.

TS Douglas continues to inspire others in their personal and professional development. She resides in Chicago, where she remains committed to helping individuals unlock their full potential.
