Gloria Kirkland-Holmes is Professor Emerita of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Northern Iowa. She joined UNI in 1978 and spent more than four decades preparing future educators while advancing multicultural education and cultural understanding across the university. Growing up in segregated Charleston, South Carolina, she overcame significant barriers to earn a doctorate in teaching and dedicated her career to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusive education.
