Craig Padawer

Craig Padawer is a Professor of Film and the Curriculum Chair for the Digital Filmmaking program at SUNY Westchester Community College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and a Master of Arts from Brown University. Throughout his career, Professor Padawer has been dedicated to helping students develop both the technical and creative skills necessary for success in filmmaking, guiding them through coursework in film studies, cinematic storytelling, video production, and post-production.

An award-winning educator, Professor Padawer is the recipient of the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, recognizing his commitment to student learning and academic excellence. In addition to teaching a broad range of film courses, he has played a significant role in shaping the college's Digital Filmmaking curriculum and preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions and careers in the film and media industries. His passion for storytelling, visual communication, and hands-on learning continues to inspire aspiring filmmakers both inside and outside the classroom.
