Meredith Romito

Meredith Romito completed her Bachelors (BA) in Psychology from Christopher Newport University, Master’s (MS) in Psychology from University of Phoenix and her Doctorate (Psy. D.) in Psychology (Criminal Studies and Juvenile Justice) from the University of the Rockies. 

She has gained knowledge and experience through working in the non-profit sector, private practice setting and teaching at the university level. For many years, Romito has conducted therapy and performed assessments for individuals with varying diagnoses to include; depression, PTSD, eating disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder as well as substance abuse and addictive behaviors. She's provided couples/premarital therapy, and adult and adolescent psychotherapy for issues to include; anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, stress, trauma and depression. Romito's therapy approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal /Relational Psychodynamic approach. 

She has a passion for education/research and has been teaching Psychology for the last 12 years at Christopher Newport University. For the last eight years, she has written parental capacity, evaluation’s for parents of children that are abused and neglected. She's also researched and selected products for the Holistic Family Solutions Wellness Store. 

Current research also includes; studying CBT for Tourette/Tic disorder and non-autistic motor stereotypies and interview/ interrogation, statement analysis, and body language review techniques.
