Katherine Koury
Katherine Koury is a Senior Instructor at the University of South Alabama, where she has been teaching in the Department of Communication for 20 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Arts in Corporate and Public Communication, both from USA. Mrs. Koury teaches courses in Communication Studies including: introduction to communication, interpersonal communication, argumentation, rhetoric and pop culture, communication in organizations, small group communication, and intercultural communication. Additionally, she teaches for Passage USA (a certificate program for developmentally disabled students to achieve gainful employment) and Start South (the university’s dual enrollment program for high school students). Mrs. Koury’s latest endeavor is to establish a successful study abroad program within her department that rotates locations each summer. In summer 2024, she led a program in Italy, and she is currently planning a program for Summer 2025 in Greece.
Mrs. Koury, a native of Mobile, and her husband, Richard, who is originally from Montreal, Quebec have a blended family of six adult children,13-year-old twins, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Koury is a foodie who enjoys traveling and attending cultural events, local festivals, and concerts.
