Rochelle Daniel

Dr. Rochelle R. Daniel is an instructor and academic program coordinator for public relations in the Department of Communications at Bowie State University. She teaches the Internship Seminar course and public relations courses. She holds a doctorate and master’s degree in management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from Howard University as well as a certificate in advanced public relations from George Washington University. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member, she worked for more than 20 years as a professional in the public relations and marketing field. She held positions of responsibility for coordinating and managing public relations/marketing programs, strategic writing, and media relations for Bowie State University, Prince George’s Community College, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, U.S. House of Representatives Government Operations Committee and the U.S. Senate.

Karima Haynes

Dr. Karima A. Haynes is a tenured assistant professor of journalism in the Department of Communications at Bowie State University. She is a 2019 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. Before making her transition into the classroom, she was a former staff writer of the Los Angeles Times, Ebony and The Providence Journal-Bulletin. In addition, her work has been published in The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and Jet magazine. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Bowie State University, a master’s degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Clark Atlanta University. She and her husband live in southern Maryland.
