Confessions of a Dance Team: The Interface of Sport, Dance, and Family Communication

Abstract

As part of the audition process for a collegiate dance team, three college women must confront the role that family communication plays in their reasons for wanting to join the team. Through self-reflection, the women realize the significance of family communication patterns used in their families-of-origin, and how these patterns affect their self-concept as athletes.
