The role of textbooks and study materials, regardless of subject, is to present learners with key content and to help them to acquire necessary skills. The goal for Criminal Justice in the New Millennium: Process & Practice is simplicity.

The authors created a text that is engaging and easy to read.  While the major criminal justice concepts and proper jargon are covered in this text, the authors made the information palatable for today’s student and concise enough for the reader to understand the material.  More importantly, the authors want readers to be able to explain what they have read.  This textbook has been intentionally created and designed by enlisting the experts in the field who understand the importance of making content interactive, interesting, and concise.

In this effort to stimulate interest in the topics, the authors have intentionally: (1) used language that is engaging and that encourages students to reflect on their own experiences; (2) provided aims and objectives for each chapter; (3) included activities as part of the study materials; and (4) provided various visual presentations (i.e., videos, charts, illustrations, links) to create interactive participation. Interactive study takes place when learners are stimulated to engage with textbooks through techniques that encourage them to read, respond and explore ideas in a way that offers some replication of the face-to-face learning experience.

The authors can assure your students will gain the required knowledge expected from an introductory text with less fear from the endless reading often found in most textbooks.

Same content-more interaction-more engagement-better understanding!
