Iris S Bodre

Iris Bodré is an experienced educator, editor and proofreader; having interned at Paper Magazine in New York City and served as an Editorial Assistant for Pearson Longman, ELT eventually securing her first teaching position in the Freshman Composition program at The City University of New York, CUNY .  Besides her composition workbook, Iris has also published an autobiographical piece with Tate Publishing and has published some essay pieces with online journals.

Iris is currently teaching in the First Year Writing program of the Department of Core Studies at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. She is also a current Faculty Fellow for the school’s Center for Faculty Success and Development where she is researching techniques to increase student engagement within the classroom. 

Iris earned her Bacherlor’s Degree from the SUNY Purchase College in New York (where she is currently a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors) and completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program with The City University of New York, City College; focusing on Creative Writing.
