Catalin Macarie is Assistant Professor of Management and Director of Freshmen Experience at Carl H. Lindner College of Business, University of Cincinnati (UC). He joined the higher academics ranks coming from over 20 years span as a successful leader and operational manager in the corporate world with demonstrated achievements in marketing & creative services, executive leadership & management, sales and business development, customer relations management, technical training, and large projects administration. During his prior tenure working with several renown national and international companies, Catalin successfully directed business turn-around marketing, creative and business development efforts, complex Web systems implementations and deployment, and profit improvement/cost reduction programs. 

Catalin brings extensive domestic and international experience into his classroom, administering the activities for and teaching a cohort of 650+ students per each academic year. His focus stresses on sharing his experience through outstanding business communication, organizational change and team-management skills with his young future business executives.

Catalin is the immediate past Chairman of the Midwest USA Chinese Chamber of Commerce (M3C), is the faculty advisor for Alpha Kappa Psi Student Business Organization, the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and the UC PandaCats International Student Organization, he is the founder and former faculty advisor for the UC iCats (International BearCats) and the UC CABO (China America Business Organization), and is part of the strategic advisory team for UC’s International Programs and Department.
