These lab experiments are designed for college students in a one semester general, organic, and biochemistry overview course. The labs have been designed to introduce basic laboratory concepts and skills necessary for further study in a variety of scientific, medical, or industrial fields. The book is aligned with the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Chemistry 135 lab course.

 

Robert Forsythe

Robert Forsythe is a life-long educator with over 35 years of teaching and administrative experience spanning primary, secondary, and higher education. Robert earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University where his passion for high quality, hands-on laboratory instruction began as a teaching assistant and a laboratory instructor. In addition to chemistry laboratory curriculum development, his professional focus has been on expanding student use of technology in the classroom and the laboratory. He is an award-winning educator with a vision for the use of hands-on laboratory and technology based simulations as the core experiences that transform student learning and achievement.

Robert currently serves as the chemistry instructor for Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College in Bowling Green, Kentucky. His teaching duties include both general education and pre-professional chemistry courses. When not in the laboratory you are likely to find Robert enjoying time outdoors at the 4th generation family farm and specifically in the vegetable garden. Robert and his wife Donna have two adult children and two grandchildren.
