Jimmy had desperately been missing the warm Arizona sun of his hometown. As a junior, he was finally (sort of) getting used to the Midwest snowy winters at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), but this winter was horrible. If the low temperatures weren’t enough to keep people inside as much as possible, the wind that went along with it made it feel 10 times worse. Even his friends from the area who had experienced winter every year of their lives knew that this was unusually difficult. After one particularly cold weekend, the weather forecast predicted that as the week continued, it was only going to get worse and news outlets advised caution. All the schools in the area were announcing that school would be cancelled due to the temperatures outside.
