GLORIA BARONE ROSANIO

Gloria Barone Rosanio has spent 30 years as a communications and public relations professional in the healthcare field. She specializes in communication strategies and campaigns related to health, social responsibility, thought leadership, brand awareness and issues management.

Her experience includes 25 years at Cigna Corporation, a global health service company, where she won several public relations awards. She also led human resources communications for Princeton University and is currently the editorial director for the healthcare practice at PwC, US.

Gloria holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Rowan University and returned to Rowan as an adjunct professor where she created the first course in Strategic Healthcare Public Relations. She authored two books for the course, “Getting Started in Healthcare Public Relations” and “Gen Z: Lonely, Stressed Out and Taking Over the World.” Gloria also served for 10 years as professional advisor to Rowan’s Public Relations Student Society of America and in 2014 was named national Professional Adviser of the Year. She began an annual scholarship 10 years ago to recognize a Rowan PR student who exemplifies the best in community service.

Gloria holds a master’s degree in journalism from Penn State University and spent the first 15 years of her career as a newspaper reporter and editor. In 2007, she earned the distinction of APR (Accredited in Public Relations.) In 2010, she became certified in Corporate Social Responsibility from the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence and in 2018, she received the Mahatma Award from NGO Expo for helping to advance social good around the world.

She is a past member of the Corporate Board of Arogya World, a non-profit dedicated to eliminating chronic disease, and is a former member of the Corporate Executive Board for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Currently, Gloria is an advisory board member to the Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces and serves on the Board of Directors for Uptown Stories, a Manhattan non-profit dedicated to helping children learn creative expression.

Gloria belongs to the Society of Children’s Book Writers and illustrators (SCBWI) and, with her husband, formed Payton Press, LLC to create children’s books, including books for March of Dimes families to read to infants in the hospital. She is also currently pursing songwriting and is a member of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI.)
