The intent of this workbook is to offer additional insights to connect students’ understanding of global business concepts and principles and those same principles as applied by global business professionals. The study of Global Business is an exciting yet complex endeavor that can also be intimidating as you learn how much this field impacts your life. This workbook was developed to engage students beyond learning and memorizing textbook definitions to being a connected participant in learning how integrated and interconnected the world of business is to daily life.

Global Business: A Practical Workbook for Real-World Applications considers learning as an active experience. This workbook highlights the general global business concepts that students might learn through the study of global business. It does not set out to be a comprehensive textbook on every global business topic. Instead, it highlights major concepts and applications to support students’ study and understanding of global business concepts and theories.

This workbook is divided into five main sections that include:

  1. Globalization and Multinational Enterprises
  2. Political and Legal Factors
  3. Economic Conditions
  4. Cultural and Social Factors
  5. Global Business Strategy and Functions.

Each section is accompanied by cases and application exercises. To make these concepts more applicable, this workbook takes students through cases and application exercises that supplement the study of the major tenets of global business. The case studies are summarizations of recognizable global companies that have encountered or experienced a global issue to manage. At the end of each case are a set of reflection questions associated with the case to assist you in understanding the concept or theory identified in the case.

In addition to the inclusion of case studies, the workbook also includes Application exercises that provide hands-on experiential learning to gain a deeper understanding of global business concepts.
