The Heavens Declare: An Introduction to Astronomy has been written for students who may not be science majors, but who enjoy gazing at clear, dark, night skies.  It is also written from the perspective of the nineteenth Psalm, which begins with these words, “The heavens declare the glory of God…”  While most astronomy textbooks are written from a purely naturalistic perspective, this textbook makes room for a biblical worldview, with the heavens being the result of a Creator rather than blind, random forces and events.  Rather than proposing that science and faith are antithetical, this textbook promotes the notion that there is no conflict between good science and good theology.  Most of the conflicting views in the sciences are about differing presuppositions rather than scientific methodologies.  This book promotes astronomy without promoting naturalism.
