Data from CDC clearly indicate that HIV/AIDS is a major epidemic among African American community. This does not undermine the progress made so far in containing the epidemic. This epidemic is now another health issue on our plates, and we need to look at all the factors that impede the effort made in containing and hopefully eliminating this epidemic. David Ajuluchukwu is a health education scholar and educator at CUNY York College, where he serves as a professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance. Throughout his career, Dr. Ajuluchukwu has been dedicated to advancing health education, promoting student success, and preparing future health professionals through innovative teaching, mentorship, and community engagement. He has held leadership roles within the department, including serving as chair, where he has worked to strengthen academic programs and expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in public health and health promotion.
