Joe and Louise moved to Hidden River, Wyoming, a charming mountain town of 2,149 people, eight years ago to escape dangers from their past and to find safety and seclusion. They came with buried memories they tried to forget. Joe became the sheriff of Hidden River. His wife Louise began writing and eventually publishing poetry. They met Sam, a rancher and a hardware store owner, and his wife Joyce. The two couples became close friends. Things began to change when Jesse and his ten-month-old daughter took over The Brocade Couch, a popular antique store on main street. Joe and Louise befriended Jesse and his daughter. When Jesse's ex-wife found him four years later, Joe was there to provide support. As Joe and Louise became close to Jesse's family watching them face their past and reveal their secrets, confronting their own ghosts, it began to haunt them. Unwanted memories from their past forced Joe and Louise to feel their own losses and fears, ones they'd buried for eight years. Then one day it all came to a head, everything was laid on the line and they were forced to look their fear in the face and their life was changed forever.

This book is the second in a three-book series based in Hidden River, Wyoming.
