The House in The Middle of Nowhere brings to life a story about a boy who was captivated by the city experience, where he had fun adventures with friends and was carefree and content.
After sudden news from his parents of moving to a remote place, the child became discontented.
As time passed at this faraway place, working hard, learning new trades, and making new friends, the child realized that he must seek, seize, and enjoy opportunities as they come. He understood that simplicity and nature brought him great joy, especially those days under the Flamboyán tree and heavenly landscape.
He realized that he was ultimately responsible for his happiness.

I remember as a child being quite curious and an avid reader. I’m indebted to my mother and grandparents, who guided my childhood imagination with great stories and invaluable advice. There is not a day that goes by that I do not apply their insights to my life.
I have been blessed with a long career, first as a medical doctor and then as a professor in higher education. I’m appreciative of my career, as it allowed me to begin to write, which led me to write these books.
My first publication was a medical Spanish book, which lit my desire to write an Anatomy and Physiology textbook.
As years passed, I felt compelled to continue to write and collect many pearls of wisdom gathered through years of reflecting on my experiences as a father, friend, medical doctor, and educator. I contemplated life phases and transitions and threaded these together to formulate the essence of this series of fictional literature based on aspects of human experiences.
Through these books I explore elements of humanity, our resilience to adapt, grow, and find peace within.
Many of the topics are inspired by family, students, and patients. I believe that no matter who we are, where we come from, or what station in life we are in, we all have similar needs and hopes.
Even though this series of children’s books is geared to a younger population, they were assembled in a way that the parents can read and teach their children life lessons.
I truly hope these books will help guide and encourage parents to pass knowledge to their children.
I dedicate these books to my child, as well as every parent out there who is doing a remarkable job inspiring and motivating their children. Best of luck to you and your children, be happy and make them happy!
