IBM SPSS Statistics Lab Manual for the Behavioral Sciences helps students develop a basic understanding of several key statistical and methodological concepts.

It introduces them to IBM SPSS Statistics software and teach them to perform some of the most common statistical tests and analyses. The material in the online course package is relevant and approachable for students who may not have a strong mathematics background as it presents the key statistical and methodological concepts as simply as possible using plain English. In addition, the SPSS lab activities use easy-to-follow, step-by-step tutorial videos.

This textbook also offers Christian universities multiple opportunities to integrate research and statistics with the Christian faith, including faith-related lab examples and faith-integration discussion questions.

Student Comments:

“The labs have been the crucial guide for me to understand as much as I can about this content (that I find very intimidating). The instructional videos remove most of the intimidation, due to the step by step guidance.”
- Psychology Major (Undergraduate)

“The lab assignments and the video tutorial were very helpful. It made it a lot easier to complete when I had the video … explaining and completing the practice lab step-by-step. It became very helpful with the lab assignment because they were so identical to each other.”
- Sociology Major (Undergraduate)

“The online lectures before the lab and the practice labs help tremendously! I feel they really take the time to explain, I am more of a visual learner so reading is hard for me to get into.”
- Psychology Major (Undergraduate)

“Following along with the lab activities with the video helps out a lot. Watching the video and doing the practice lab before tackling the lab on our own helps me out a lot with figuring out SPSS, and it is much better working alongside the video rather than trying to read how to complete the assignment step-by-step. The video helps out greatly, and I am able to retain information much easier.”
- Counseling Psychology Student (Graduate)

“The SPSS Labs, specifically the practice lab tutorials have helped the most. I do not think I would understand or do nearly as well without them.”
- Psychology Major (Undergraduate)
