International Law, the Protection of Human Dignity, and the Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts in the 21st Century provides a response to essential questions regarding the importance of protecting human rights and human dignity for the survival of humankind. The book proposes the use of the language of international human rights as an instrument for the prevention and peaceful resolution of ethnic, political, and religious conflicts both at the national and international levels. In this context, the book highlights the importance of implementing international law in general and international human rights in particular. To highlight the importance of protecting both individual and group rights, the book provides case studies of Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Latin America’s indigenous peoples, and others. The book focuses on international normative responses to actions of extreme political evil and the importance of the peaceful resolution of international and national ethnic, religious, and political conflicts.
