The concepts include such items as self-disclosure, identity, emotions, needs and desires, effective communication, responsibility, helping relationships, and meaning. Each theory suggests how to communicate with another person to have a healthy relationship. In addition to discussing each theory, each chapter gives communication tips and has an exercise at the end that allows for application of some concepts.
