HOWE
Julie A. Howe is a Professor and Assistant Head for Undergraduate Programs in Soil Chemistry and Fertility. She is a faculty member in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Texas A&M University. In her leadership role, she also supports undergraduate academic programs and curriculum development within the department. Dr. Howe earned a B.A. in Bioenvironmental Sciences from Texas A&M University in 1995 and completed her Ph.D. in Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2004. Her research focuses on soil chemistry, particularly the effects of soil management practices on the transformation and cycling of nutrients and carbon in soil and water systems. She aims to improve nutrient cycling and carbon storage in agroecosystems through sustainable and economically viable land management practices that support environmental health and productivity.
Sam
Feagley
Sam Feagley is a Professor Emeritus in Soil Environmental Chemistry. He previously served at Texas A&M University, where his work focused on extension education and applied research in soil and environmental management. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1979. Throughout his career, Dr. Feagley specialized in nutrient management related to the land application of animal wastes and biosolids, as well as the reclamation of disturbed or degraded lands, including lignite surface-mined areas. His expertise also includes the remediation of saline and sodic soils and the management of metals in soils and water systems.
