The essence of Introduction to West African Humanities: From Antiquity to 1900 is to highlight the very important contributions of the ancestors of African descendant populations throughout the Americas, many of whom originated in West Africa. West African Humanities gives students a greater knowledge of a part of the world that has been often overlooked in academic circles. It strives to humanize the peoples of the second largest continent in the world, as well as their descendants.
