Frank J. Cavico is a professor of business law and ethics at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship of Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He possesses an LL.M from the University of San Diego School of Law, a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, a Master’s degree in Political Science from Drew University, and a B.A. in Political Science from Gettysburg College.
He has been a faculty member at the Huizenga School for over 25 years; and he has been involved in an array of teaching responsibilities, at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels, encompassing such subject matter areas as business law, government regulation of business, constitutional law, administrative law and ethics, labor law and labor relations, health care law, and business ethics. He currently serves as Lead Professor for the required MBA course – The Values of Legality, Morality, and Social Responsibility in Business, which is a course he developed for the school.
In 2000, he was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by the Huizenga School; and in 2007, he was awarded the Faculty Member of the Year Award by the Huizenga School. He has published several law review articles, principally in the areas of tort and employment law; and, together with his faculty colleague, Dr. Bahaudin Mujtaba, has published several management articles and books.
Professor Cavico has worked as a government regulatory attorney, as a counsel for a labor union, and has practiced civil law and immigration law in Miami, Florida. He is a member of the Florida and Texas Bar Associations.
Professor Cavico is married; his wife, Nancy, is an RN; they live in Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida. Nancy holds a Certificate in Legal Studies from Nova Southeastern University; and together they have authored articles on nursing law and practice. Dr. Bahaudin G. Mujtaba is currently an associate professor of management and human resources management at Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Bahaudin has been serving as a faculty member at the Huizenga School since 1996. Bahaudin was given the prestigious annual “Faculty of the Year Award” in 2005. On February 12 2010, Bahaudin received the “Pride of HR Profession” Award at the World HRD Congress annual conference, held in Mumbai, India.
Bahaudin has served as a manager, trainer and management development specialist in the retail industry for sixteen years. His areas of research are management, training, diversity management, and cross-cultural management. Bahaudin has served as Chair for the SAE/SAEE International Conference held at Kabul University on December 2005 which was jointly held by the Society of Afghan Engineers (SAE) and the Society of Afghan Engineers and Architect (SAAE). In 2008, he served as Conference Co-Chair for the Global Association of Business and Economic Research (GABER) in Orlando (USA) and in Bangkok, Thailand.
Bahaudin has written, presented and published over one hundred articles (in the areas of business, change, culture, ethics, diversity, leadership, and privatization) in academic conferences, textbooks and journals. Bahaudin has authored and co-authored sixteen different books in the areas of coaching, performance management, cross-cultural management, diversity management, mentoring, negotiations, leadership, and adult education. Bahaudin was born in Khoshie of Logar and raised in Kabul of Afghanistan. Bahaudin has been a visitor or speaker on conferences in the United States of America, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Grenada, Brazil, Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Thailand, and other Caribbean countries.
