“Here we go . . . a new day, a new city, a new apartment, and a new job,” Jared thought to himself. He felt like a new person—starting fresh, just out of college, with everything to look forward to and no regrets, other than how much he indulged himself at his after-graduation party. Even that seemed a distant memory now, since he had moved to the “big city” (a far cry from the small college town where he had been living the last 4 years). Jared looked forward to meeting a lot of new people and launching what he knew would be a lucrative career in sales.
