Parker
Michael Andre Parker was born in Warsaw, Virginia on August 15, 1959, to Evelyn Parker (d.) and Oscar Parker, Sr (d.). He is one of six children; Oscar, Jr. (d.), Rosalyn, Geoffrey, Michael, Terry, and Tonya, in order of age, respectively. He is married to Mona Leasa, and they have one son, Michael, Jr. After graduating from Virginia State University (1981 B.S., 1987 M.S.), he would soon find his true calling in life. A career academia developed after a brief programming job at IBM, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was recruited to teach mathematics at Norfolk State University and has been there for 38 years.
