The intent of this publication is for the student to become comfortable with working with PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign, helping them develop the confidence to experiment and be creative. PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign each contains more tools and utilities useful to the designer for print media than can be covered in a one-semester course, particularly a course that attempts to deal with all three programs. The choices of what to cover were made in consultation with professors teaching the more advanced design courses, the author’s fifteen years of experience working with public relations issues for a regional publisher and, occasionally, just what seemed would be dramatic and fun for the student.
