- Principles. David Thompson builds company brands, leadership brands, and personal brands. A storyteller in all aspects of life, David believes that the foundation for genuine experiences and lifelong relationships is the stories that connects us all.
In thirty plus years as a marketing strategist, brand communicator, and educator, David has developed high-impact branding programs for companies ranging from Fortune 500s to high growth start-ups. A short list of brands he’s worked with includes Comcast, Intel Corporation, Pernod Ricard, Philips Electronics, and Sony Ericsson Mobile.
He manages a marketing consulting firm, Bongo Consulting, founded to provide business marketing strategies that guide the growth of business-to-business companies and professional services firm in the mid-market space.
David joined Temple University in 2012 as an Adjunct Professor teaching advertising courses. Throughout his early years teaching and mentoring, students consistently identified two major themes of their college experience–they didn’t feel prepared to get a job, and they weren’t confident in expressing the value they could offer employers.
With the blessing of Temple’s Advertising Dept, David created the country’s first college course on Personal Branding. Besides his ongoing Temple course, he has led Personal Brand, Career Development, and Entrepreneurial Leadership workshops at high education institutions including College of William and Mary, Wake Forest University, West Virginia University and Rowan University, and for international students in the Italian-American Business Council scholarship program.
In 2019, he founded Career Coach Pros to expand his personal brand and career development curriculum to consult and lead workshops at community colleges, philanthropic organizations, and within corporate training programs.
