This workbook was born directly out of my experience teaching undergraduate exercise science and kinesiology students in an educational landscape that has changed dramatically in a short period of time. A core goal of this workbook is to promote attendance with purpose. Activities are designed to be completed during class or guided sessions, reinforcing the value of showing up, participating, and engaging with peers. The format supports accountability while still respecting diverse learning styles and levels of preparation.
Additionally, the structured writing components are deliberate. Many students struggle not because they lack
access to information but because they have limited opportunities to practice retrieval, synthesis, and application. By providing guided space to write—rather than open-ended or technology-driven tasks—students are encouraged to strengthen recall, deepen understanding, and build confidence in their own reasoning.
This workbook is not intended to replace textbooks, lectures, or digital resources. Instead, it serves as a bridge
between information and understanding, helping students move beyond consumption of content toward meaningful learning that prepares them for professional practice in exercise science and health-related fields.
