It contains:
- First-hand accounts from educators working in the field, detailing not only their accomplishments but also the challenging, candid experiences that molded them

- Networking, mentoring, and career development strategies—because nobody ever gets there alone.
- Tools to help educators from historically underrepresented backgrounds overcome obstacles and regain their influence.
- Helpful checklists, resources, and planning templates to help you put ideas into practice and determine your next course of action.
Moving into administration or obtaining a new title aren’t the only topics covered in this book. It’s about using your full potential, whether that be in a community setting, a classroom, or creating policy from the ground up. It’s about assisting you in becoming the kind of leader, advocate, and educator that your community needs. You are not behind, regardless of where you are starting from. You’re not invisible. You’re not by yourself. You don’t wait to be given leadership. You practice it every day, in every room you enter, in a quiet and confident manner. Your practice partner is this book.
