Lee M
Allen
Dr. Allen joined the Valdosta State University faculty in 1090. He primarily teaches Public Administration courses at the graduate level, focusing on personnel management and related topics. Prior to joining the political science department, Dr. Allen taught with the Texas State University System, University of Texas System, Texas A&M University System, and at the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He has also held faculty positions in Europe and in Latin America.
Dr. Allen is married, with children and grandchildren, and enjoys going to family reunions all over the country. Growing up in Nevada, he enjoys taking the occasional road trip: especially on the Lincoln Highway, Route 66, El Camino Real, and the Autobahns. He also enjoys reading science fiction and popular science, while rounding out his interests in the social sciences and studies of human development. Dr. Allen plays chess for fun, having given up hunting due to his increasing concern over global environmental degradation and species extinctions.
