Cathryn Collopy O'Donnell

Cathryn Collopy O’Donnell (Ph.D., University of California, Irvine) Cathryn Collopy O’Donnell, Professor Emeritus of Spanish, taught for many years at Fullerton College where she served as chair of the Department of Foreign Languages and Coordinator for Staff Development. Her interests in the field of modern language education have included materials development, reading and writing strategy usage, distance education, and the application of the National Standards to the college-level curriculum. During her teaching career, Cathryn was actively involved in workshops and presentations in the areas of best practices in distance education, online course development, and the National Standards. She has lived and taught in Spain and traveled in Mexico, Panama, Venezuela and Colombia. Cathryn created the book design and map adaptations for Portales, 2nd and 3rd editions. 

Kathryn Kelly

Kathryn E. Kelly (Ph.D., University of California, Irvine)

Kathryn E. Kelly is a Professor of Spanish at Riverside City College where she has developed and taught online and hybrid courses, organized various communicative approach workshops and practicums, and served as chair of the Department of Foreign Languages (1990–2001). Her interests include applied linguistics, educational technology, Internet-based instructional games and activities development, indigenous civilizations, and Central American literature and culture. She has received a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Teaching Excellence Award, among others She was an AFS exchange student in Ecuador, has carried out research and traveled extensively in Guatemala, taught a study abroad program in Mexico, and has traveled in Costa Rica and Peru. Kathryn currently serves as facilitator of the Discipline of World Languages in the Riverside City College District.
