The issue of dialogue between cultures is today discussed more than ever through increasing globalization, migration flows, and developing information and communication technologies (ICTs). While intercultural encounters become a part of people’s daily lives, ICTs contribute to the emergence of new “contact zones,” where cultures meet (Pratt 1991). Among these technologies, the Internet, especially, enables different forms of contact zones by creating a potential space for inter- and transcultural dialogue through its participatory and open structure. This paper deals with the potential of the Internet for dialogue between different migrant groups and other people in their country of settlement by looking at the cases of Moroccan and Turkish diasporic discussion forums.
