Harrelson
Since Fall 2016, Mandy Harrelson has been the Program Champion for the Finance Department at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business. As one of the first three original Program Champion hires (finance, marketing, and management), Mandy helped created and shape the new unique position. She is responsible for integrating academic requirements, employer needs, professional development, and student preferences into a holistic program that promotes student entry into their chosen career field. She mentors the finance students in the various career paths within the industry and helps them utilize resources on campus, in hopes to compete for the best internships and career opportunities. In connection, Mandy works closely with companies of all size to maximize their success in recruiting Harbert College of Business finance students.
Mandy teaches Professional Development for Finance {a required course for all finance majors and the third class in the four class Professional Development series within the College of Business}, Principles of Business Finance, and the Internship for class credit course.
Prior to accepting the full-time position as Program Champion, Mandy was an active financial advisor and Field Director for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Her focus was in personal needs analysis, asset & income protection, education funding, retirement solutions, long term care insurance, and annuities. Mandy won several national awards, including Company Top 100 in Lives and New Clients, while also actively recruiting and training financial representatives. She continues to hold her Series 6, 63, 65, and & 7 licenses and mildly practices in the field with 20/20 Wealth Management. Mandy also possesses her CLU, ChFC, and CLTC designations.
Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband Lou and 13-year-old son Hunter. When not at ball fields with them, she can be found at the lake or reading.
