Sport Administration is designed for sport administration, management, and governance courses for upper-level or graduate students. This text primarily focuses on sport administration and governance in a global sport business environment. This book is for individuals interested in a career in sport business and particularly for those who have ambitions to be a sport manager. This book prepares students to become future managers and leaders in the sport industry, which differentiates itself from the foundation of sport management texts whose focus is more on the general introductory principles of sport.

Sport Administration addresses administrative issues pertinent to sport organizations. The aim of the first seven chapters is to establish a theoretical knowledge base related to sport administration that future managers will need to best contribute within their organizations. After reading these chapters, students will understand how to develop a strategic management plan that establishes strong organizational structure and culture within a sport organization. Equally, students will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of sport administration essentials such as human resource management, budgeting, and risk management and assessment. This text also helps students analyze the sport industry with a global view and from multiple perspectives. Students are given opportunities to critically evaluate elite sport development systems and policies of national and international sport governing bodies and federations.
